Make a submission

Mosaic welcomes submissions of original research articles, theoretical papers, practice-based reflections, and reviews relevant to the field of language teaching. All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process and must comply with the ethical standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Manuscript Types

We accept the following types of submissions:

Research Articles (6,000–8,000 words): Empirical or theoretical studies that contribute to language teaching and learning.

Practice-Based Contributions (3,000–5,000 words): Reflections, case studies, or classroom-based innovations.

Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words): Reviews of recent publications in the field of language education.

Position Papers (4,000–6,000 words): Scholarly arguments addressing current debates or proposing new directions in language education.

2. Peer Review Process

• All submitted manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review: authors’ and reviewers’ identities will remain anonymous to each other.

• Each submission will be reviewed by at least two independent experts.

• Reviewers will evaluate submissions based on originality, methodological soundness, theoretical contribution, relevance, and clarity.

• Final publication decisions rest with the editorial team, based on reviewer feedback and journal scope.

4. Author Declarations

Originality

• Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Generative AI Policy

• Any use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL·E) in writing or image creation must be disclosed in the manuscript.

• AI tools must not be listed as authors.

• Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, validity, and originality of all content, including any AI-generated portions.

Ethical Research

• For studies involving human subjects (e.g., surveys, interviews), authors must confirm that:

Ethical approval was obtained if required.

Informed consent was secured from participants.

• Any potential risks to participants have been addressed.

5. Conflict of Interest

• Authors must declare any financial, personal, or institutional conflicts of interest that could influence their work.

• A “Conflicts of Interest” statement must be included in the submission, or a declaration that none exist.

6. Copyright and Licensing

• Authors retain the copyright of their work.

• By submitting, authors grant Mosaic the right to publish and distribute their article under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-ND).

• Authors are responsible for obtaining permission for any third-party material included in their submission.

7. Submission Process

• In your email, please include:

• A short cover letter outlining the article’s focus and relevance.

• The title page and the blinded manuscript as separate attachments.

• Any supplementary files (e.g., figures, tables, audio/video links) clearly labeled.

8. Post-Submission and Publication

• Authors will receive confirmation of receipt within one week.

• Peer review usually takes 6–8 weeks. Authors will be notified of the decision and given time to make revisions if required.

• Accepted articles will be copyedited and proofed prior to publication.

• Published articles may be subject to corrections or retractions according to our Ethics Policy.
